2/7/22 – Methane Report for CAMS Data for Saturday, 2/5/22

2/7/22 – We’re seeing sudden high sulfur dioxide readings on the west coast of the U.S. today. I don’t know if this is as a result of movement in the Cascadia subduction zone releasing sulfur dioxide. The ozone is also very thin over that same area.

2/8/22 – Following up on the sudden high sulfur dioxide readings on the west coast of the U.S. yesterday, I don’t see a new release of SO2 today. It appears the SO2 cloud is slowly dissipating and spreading out to the east.  The ozone hole is following the pattern of the sulfur dioxide.
